NSIIF Closes More Than $4 Million in Financing to Preserve Affordable Housing and Community Spaces

At LISC Fund Management (LFM), we believe strategic investments can strengthen communities, preserve affordability, and create lasting opportunities for residents and small businesses. We're pleased to announce two recent closings through the National Strategic Investments Impact Fund (NSIIF) that advance those goals in California and New York.

On June 30, 2026, NSIIF closed a $1.5 million senior loan to Black Owned and Operated Community Land Trust (BOO CLT) in Los Angeles' historic Leimert Park neighborhood. The financing will refinance existing acquisition debt and support predevelopment activities for the redevelopment of a fully occupied commercial property on Degnan Boulevard. The project will preserve affordable commercial space for local businesses while adding new retail, office, and community-serving space that supports economic growth and cultural preservation in one of Los Angeles' most important cultural districts.

On July 1, 2026, NSIIF closed a $2.5 million acquisition loan for Clinton Street Apartments, a 23-unit naturally occurring affordable housing (NOAH) property in Cornwall, New York. The financing will help preserve affordable rental housing serving households earning between 50% and 80% of Area Median Income (AMI). The transaction also includes planned repairs and capital improvements that will support the long-term quality and stability of the property. The project is sponsored by Grove Residential LLC, an emerging developer focused on preserving affordable housing across secondary and tertiary markets in the Northeast.

"These investments reflect the power of impact-driven capital to preserve affordability, strengthen local economies, and expand opportunity in communities of all sizes," said Tiffany Durr, President of LISC Fund Management. "Whether we're supporting community ownership and economic vitality in Leimert Park or preserving much-needed affordable housing in the Hudson Valley, our goal is the same: to invest in projects that create lasting benefits for residents, entrepreneurs, and neighborhoods. We're proud to partner with mission-driven sponsors who are helping build stronger communities."

Together, these transactions represent $4 million in financing dedicated to preserving critical community assets, from affordable commercial space that supports small businesses and cultural identity to affordable housing that helps families remain rooted in their communities. Through NSIIF, LFM remains committed to deploying capital where it can generate both financial returns and meaningful community impact.

How much are MBBS fees in Georgia? MBBS fees in Georgia vary by university, but most Indian students can expect to pay around USD 3,500–8,500 per year in tuition. Over the full 6-year program, the total tuition cost is typically around ₹24–40 lakh, while the overall budget, including accommodation and living expenses, depends on the university and lifestyle. Georgia remains a popular destination because of its affordable fees, English-medium programs, and globally recognized medical universities.

That's fantastic news—especially the $1.5 million loan to BOO CLT in Leimert Park; preserving affordable commercial space there is so vital for the local businesses and community character. By the way, I keep a free planning and optimization tool I like to share: https://satisfactorycalculator.net/

I wholeheartedly support these impactful investments from LFM! The strategic allocation of capital to preserve local business spaces immediately reminds me of the game monkey mart—where players also have to intelligently manage resources to expand their stalls and help their small supermarket grow sustainably. Whether in the real market or in a game, investing wisely always brings long-term value to the community!

I tried visiting https://friendsofapod.org/ today, but it looks like the site is currently down for maintenance. The domain name caught my attention because it suggests something related to Astronomy Picture of the Day, which is one of my favourite daily reads. I was hoping to find a community or forum where fellow space enthusiasts discuss the latest images and discoveries. If anyone knows more about this project or has visited before, I would love to hear what it was like. I will check back in a few days to see if they are back online. In the meantime, has anyone else come across a good place for astronomy nerds to hang out online?
